How Our Search Engine Works

Two different search systems

findbyface actually runs two separate systems, and it's worth being upfront about which one you're using. Browsing by category or typing a name into the search bar uses FindRank, our engagement-based ranking. Uploading a photo on the face search tool uses a completely different AI visual-matching pipeline. Neither one involves a person manually choosing results.

How FindRank works

FindRank orders creators by real engagement signals pulled live from OnlyFans — primarily favorited count and subscriber metrics. It's a straightforward popularity signal, not a subjective "quality" judgment: more real engagement moves a profile up, nothing else does. We re-pull this data and recalculate the ranking daily, so newly popular creators surface within a day rather than sitting behind a stale list. Verification badges are refreshed on a weekly cycle.

There is no human review of ranking order. No one at findbyface manually bumps a profile up or down because of how it looks or who runs it. The only edits we ever make by hand are removals — for example, honoring a valid DMCA request or a creator's own takedown request — never additions or reordering.

How face-match search works

Our photo search is a separate AI pipeline, unrelated to FindRank. When you upload a photo, a face-recognition model detects the face and converts it into a numeric descriptor — a mathematical fingerprint of facial geometry. We compare that descriptor against creator profiles using vector similarity search and return the closest visual matches, ranked by similarity score. It runs on appearance alone: no names, no reverse lookups, and matches are for discovery, not identity confirmation. Read more in our About page.

Sponsored placements, fully disclosed

findbyface is free to use, and part of how that's funded is paid placements: a creator can pay to appear in a specific spot, like the top of a category page or search results. We're direct about what that does and doesn't buy:

• It never changes a creator's FindRank score or face-match similarity score.
• It never hides, blurs, or demotes organic (unpaid) results to make room.
• Every sponsored card is labeled — you'll see a visible "Sponsored" or "Ad" tag, never a placement disguised as an organic result.
